I began my Masters of Library & Information Science degree in 2007, and plan to graduate in May 2011 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I’ve long believed in libraries as the center of communities, from elementary school to college to the public at large. It has also been a revelation to see how much of what I’ve learned in class can be applied to what I’m doing now. Some of my favorite projects include building a library website from scratch with Drupal, helping to create a backend RefWorks instruction editor using PHP/MySQL, participating in and helping to plan the Midwest Library Technology Conference, and creating online resources for use by incoming freshmen at Macalester College.
